Here are a few guidelines for selling us your used bike:

We only buy used bikes and frames at the Citybikes Annex at 734 SE Ankeny.

We can buy bikes anytime, but for faster service the best time to bring a bike to sell is weekday mornings.

You can generally make more money selling a bike privately.

All used bikes require a 15-day police hold. After the 15 day hold, we will send you payment for the bike we have purchased or you may come to the shop and pick it up.

We are very interested in buying quality, used, bikes, especially hybrids, touring bikes,and small road bikes.

We are NOT interested in buying bikes bought from department stores, full-suspension bikes, or bikes in poor condition.

 

Consignment Bikes

Consignment is a good option if we can sell the bike for $300 or more and the bike does not need any parts or labor. We will pay you 75% of the selling price and you will receive payment only after the bike sells. One can usually get more money buy consigning a bike, but it may take longer to receive payment.
